URGENT-East Cape Road closures due to provincial taxi strike

160610 14:22 Clear EL, KWT to Hogsback – Marissa

160610 13:52  All roads reported open now; further to Grahamstown and KWT

160610 13:38  Road is open Hogsback to Fort Beaufort. Info from Sugne on Whats up Hogsback.

160610 13:19 Road to Alice now open. rsg said all is calm in Alice but still ongoing in EL & PE

160610 12:12 Report is that all roads are still blocked throughout the East Cape. Pictures show serious burning and wreckage.

Please take note of the following road closures:
East London
-Gonubie Main Road blocked
-Mdantsane black Road blocked
-Golden Highway blocked
-Da Gama and Voortrekker blocked
-R347-Zwelitsha road (by the trainstation)
-Buffallo/Caxton road/Oxford street
-Woolwash Road
-Scenery Park under the bridge
-NU6-Circle blocked
-Entrance to Fort Jackson blocked
-Kuilsrivier blocked
-Van Rooyen towards Love Bird Road blocked
-Kwanobuhle-Uitenhage and Rocklands blocked on BOTH sides
– Bridge over Swartkops and Market Square
T-Junction towards Kirkwood Blocked
Sansouci road-blocked
Police warning: There are huge cement blocks on the R72 about 15km before Xhalumna on a blind rise across the road from Port Alfred-East London.
All the R61 Junctions between Lusikisiki and Port St Johns blocked. NO vehicles allowed through.
R102 near Nahoon dam turn-off-road is also blocked.
N2-Fort Jackson on and off ramp both sides blocked. Burning tyres.
