Spring Festival weekend events

Please remember the Flower Arrangement Competition at “The Edge” on Saturday, October 8th. Arrangements should be in place in the Conference Facility latest at 9:00 am on Saturday morning, it may be better to set up on Friday afternoon. Please come and view and then vote for the best arrangement. There are exciting prizes to be won.

The Bonzai exhibition by Mark Schenk and Etienne Paroz will take place at the same venue and the same time. Whilst enjoying these exquisite creations and and judging the Flower Arrangements, enjoy a Free Port and Muscatel tasting of South African Ports and Muscatels, which will also be available to purchase.

At ” The Arminel Hotel “ attend a Flower Demonstration by well known Floral Artist Wimpie from the Flower Yard in East London on Saturday at 3:00 pm.

Close this spectacular day by visiting the Rose Theatre – Starways and listen to Italian Songs, Arias and Ensembles. Gwyneth Lloyd presents another of her “singing teams” opening their hearts and their voices with the music of Italy – Mozart, Donizetti, De Curtis, Verdi and other fun songs. National Grahamstown Competition Winner Anele Zikalala will touch your hearts. Litha, Zenazi and Gwyneth blend their voices with old favorites. Jacques and Andrew share the accompaniments and fun.

Enjoy fresh Pizza from THE ROSE kitchen and refreshments will be available.

Last event of our Spring Festival

The last event of our 2011 Spring Festival is a Music Concert at Back ‘o the Moon, Orchard Lane, home of Derek and Norma Fivaz. 11.30 am on Sunday 9

Andrew Duncan & Jaques du Plessis present a delightful program of works for piano four – hands as well as solo. Both are accomplished post graduate music students from Rhodes University. They perform with technical accuracy and capture the character and emotion of each composer. Both performed at the last Grahamstown Arts Festival and are therefore recommended to music lovers of any age group.
