Xmas in July at Feathers

On Saturday 23rd we will be opening the Fresh Produce Market for our Xmas in July visitors. The market will be held under canvas in case of bad weather. The market will open at 9.30am and close at 3.30pm.

Our local Hogsback suppliers – together with our invited guest stallholders will be offering a range of produce and home industry products.

Fresh veggies, soups, breads, herbs, seedlings and other yummy goodies will be on offer.

Fresh Feathers Savory and Sweet Scones with Tea/Coffee at R20 per serving will be on offer, as well as other Feathers Finger Food.

We are delighted to welcome the Baddafords Farm Stall from Fort Beaufort, together with their suppliers – the  Manor House Team from Riversands Farm – to the Fresh Produce Market on Saturday.  We are looking forward to sampling all their lovely produce in Hogsback for the first time.

The CATA Communal Association will be bringing through fresh produce from their community garden project, as well as produce from their individual home growers.

The BRC (Border Regional Council ) will be joining with the CATA Communal Association – CPA – to showcase the tourism and craft offering at Cata – this is an ideal opportunity to find out more about our neighbours, and we are pleased to welcome them to a Hogsback Xmas in July.

Hogsback Guides – meet our new young team of Accredited FGASA Registered Guides at the Cata Tourism Stand.

The Hogsback Guides will be offering group walks on Saturday 23rd and on Sunday 24th – please check the Xmas in July Program for further details.

The Department of Art and Culture will be creating an exhibition at Feathers showcasing works of art created by our local community artists. The exhibition will be open from Friday 22nd  to Sunday 24th.

A FRONTIER FEAST UNDER CANVAS
Festive Dinner at Feathers
On Saturday Night 23rd  July 7.00 for 7.30pm:

Join us at The Long Tables next to the blazing log fires and experience a meal that the past peoples of the Thyumie Valley would have enjoyed.

To Start:              A thick veggie soup with vetkoek
Mains:                  Nkuku – A delicious chicken casserole and Nyama – Braised beef with dumplings
Side Dishes:         Nqusho, Pap and Sheba, Xhosa Cabbage, Marog, Sweet Pumpkin
Breads:                Corn Kernal Potbread and Old Style Sourdough Farm Bread
Dessert:               Xmas Fruit Cake with Custard and Jelly

Dress is comfortably casual. Please make sure that you are warmly dressed.

Dinner will be served at a mix of Long Tables and Smaller Tables….. Find a Seat, Kick Back and Find Some New Friends.

A Cash Bar will be available.

R130 pp – children under 12 half price.
